REPORT AND PHOTOGRAPHS BY DAVID MARSHALL
On Wednesday 25th November our annual Christmas party was held
in the Mill Suite at Pickering Memorial Hall.
A total of 23 members and friends would be in attendance and
we certainly had a wonderful night.
The evening began with a special Christmas quiz that was compiled
by Miss Sue Marshall. The questions were centred round finding
numbers and were a mixture of questions on pantomimes, carols,
popular music, sport and, of course, fish. Well done to Les
and Pauline Barker for getting the greatest number of correct
answers.

Next came the 'pot luck supper' for which the people present
brought along a rich variety of sweet and savoury items that
filled the table. Thank you as we certainly had a supper to
remember and the smoked salmon that Richard Hebden brought along
was quickly 'snapped up'.

Next came the undoubted highlight of the evening when Mr. Frank
Tolomeo produced a pack of giant cards for the Ryedale version
of 'play your cards right'. Once the audience got 'into the
groove' it was fun and laughter all of the way. Steve Grant
and Mick Price certainly made the most of a 'reprieve' to take
first place with Ann and Owen Mook running them a close second.

Finally, it was time just to relax and talk to 'old friends'
before the evening closed with the drawing of the raffle.
Thank you to everyone who brought along prizes for the raffle,
food for the supper and, most importantly, for the friendship
that was shown on a wonderful evening.
